Circles with Green (2016), the original watercolor colored pencil and ink drawing, was inspired by Duckweed, a tiny plant that grows on or just below the surface of ponds or slow moving water. The plants individual leaves end up creating blankets of green forms, hiding the "treasures" below. This piece reminds viewers to look past the surface and remember the intricate layers and details that are so easily hidden just below the surface.

Maria's Circles are based upon Circles with Green and were created as a four piece commission. Soon the other panels (2, 3, & 4) may also be available for fine art prints.
